Find your group

Your church or your group leader gave you a code. That is all you need.

Step 1

Join your church

  1. Sign in. On the first screen, tap I was given my church’s code.
  2. Type the code. Capitals do not matter.
  3. Tap Join the church. You now have Emberside and Thread.
  4. Already in the app? Tap your group’s name at the top, then Join a church.

Step 2

Join a group

You can be in as many groups as you like.

  1. Your church’s groups are listed under In your church. Tap Ask to join. The leader decides.
  2. Invited by a leader? You will see An invitation for you. Tap Join.
  3. A group that is not part of a church gives out an ask code. Use I was given a group’s ask code.

Step 3

Pray together

  1. Open Prayer and tap Add a request. Only your group sees it.
  2. Praying for someone? Tap Pray for this. They see how many are praying.
  3. Only you can close your own request. Tap its circle and choose God answered, It went another way, or give an update.

Step 4

Come to the gathering

  1. Open Calendar and tap a gathering.
  2. Tap I’m in or Can’t make it.
  3. Tap Open in Thread to read the passage, or Remind me for a nudge an hour before.
  4. Want it in your own calendar? Tap Add to calendar.

Step 5

Chat with the group

  1. Open Chat and write to the group.
  2. Tap a message to add a mark like 🙏 or ❤️, or tap Reply to start a thread.
  3. Press and hold a message to delete your own, Report to Emberside, or block someone.
  4. Tap + at the top to talk with just one person, still inside the group.

Step 6

Get ready in the Vault

The Vault holds what to read or watch before each gathering. It is your own checklist.

  1. Open Vault.
  2. Tap the circle beside anything you have done. Only you see your ticks.
