Emberside
You can do this yourself in the app, or ask us to do it for you. You do not need Emberside installed to ask.
Write to privacy@wayfarersdigital.com with the subject Account deletion request, from the address you signed in with. We may write back to confirm it is you before we act — that check is what stops somebody else deleting your account.
It is done within 30 days, usually much sooner, and we confirm when it is finished. You do not need the app installed, and you do not need to be able to sign in.
Settings → Leaving signs you out and clears Emberside from the device, and asks twice before it does.
Today that is all it does — it clears the phone, and does not yet remove your account from our servers. So the email above is the one that deletes your data, and this paragraph changes the day that stops being true.
Your profile and your name, your photo if you added one, your memberships in every group, the text of every prayer request and update you wrote, your RSVPs, your chat messages, and anything you pinned to a group’s vault.
A prayer request you posted leaves a marker behind, with your words emptied out and no name on it. The replies underneath it are other people’s words about their own praying, and collapsing the thread would take those with it. So the thread keeps its shape and loses everything of yours.
If you are the only leader of a group that still has people in it, or the only administrator of a church, we will ask you to hand that over first. The app says the same thing rather than failing quietly. Nobody should be left running a group that has nobody able to run it.
Backups are kept for up to 30 days. After that the deleted data is gone from those too.
If you also use Thread Bible Study, it is the same account. Deleting your Emberside data leaves Thread untouched. There is a separate choice that removes both and the sign-in itself, and you are told which is which before you choose.
The full picture is in the privacy policy. If anything here is unclear, write to us and ask — that is a better outcome than deleting something you meant to keep.
